Q1 Updates

  • 22/04/2025 - For Information - The following documents have now been published on Cambridgeshire Learn Together: Corporate Requirements 2025-26, Absence and Maternity Schemes, Scheme for Financing Schools. Please navigate using the links one left hand menu.
  • 10/04/2025 - For Information - the DfE have released the CFR framework for 2025/26. This includes changes to the definition and classification of leases and their associated expenditure. The Authority will review and summarise this change and communicate the impact for schools separately.

Q4 Updates

  • 19/03/2025 - For Information - Budgets for Early Years have now been released and can be viewed and downloaded here
  • 18/03/2025 - For Information - On Wednesday 19th March 09:00, SSCT will be holding a short Year End workshop to highlight changes to the data collection for 2025/26. If you would like to join this session, please email bank.account@cambridgeshire.gov.uk for joining instructions.
  • 18/03/2025 - For Information -  The ESFA have updated the methodology and funding rated for the 2025/26 Core Schools Budget Grant payable to Special Schools to include details of the National Insurance Contributions Grant. Further detail can be found here.
  • 18/03/2025 - For Information -  The ESFA have published the methodology and funding rates for the National Insurance Contributions Grant for 2025/26. Further information and indicative allocations can be found here for Primary, Secondary and Early Years. 
  • 18/03/2025 - For Information -  The DfE have today confirmed the rated for Pupil Premium for 2025/26. Details can be found here. Schools can estimate their allocations using these new rates. Indicative allocations will be provided by the DfE in due course.
  • 05/03/2025 - For Action - We remind Maintained Schools of the deadline to submit their SFVS return and the Related Party Transactions Declaration to the LA by the 31st March 2025. Where the return has been approved by Governors before 31st March, please send these returns as soon as possible. Send all documents to Bank.Account@cambrisdgeshire.gov.uk
  • 24/02/2025 - For Action - We are aware of a number of schools receiveing requests from EPM to confirm the LGPS Employers Pension Contribution Rate for 2025/26. This rate will remain unchanged at 20.7% for 2025/26. The rate beyond 2025/26 has yet to be set. We are not currently aware of any deficits within the scheme.
  • 31/01/2025 - For Information - The National Joint Council (NJC) for Support Staff have submitted their pay claim for 2025/26. The headline is for an award of £3000 on every SCP. This is not finalised at this stage and this will now enter the bargaining process between the Unions and the Employers. SBS has a inflation figure of 3.0% for NJC pay in 2025/26. As the situation develops, the LA will keep schools informed. 
  • 20/01/2025 - For Information - Draft bugets for 2025-26 have now been released and are available for Schools and Academies to view here. These figures are still subject to DfE validation and may still chage (although any change is not expected to material). These budgets are being entered in to SBS this week for Maintained Schools. 

Q3 Updates

  • 13/12/2024 - For INFORMATION - The Government has submitted its evidence to the STRB suggesting a 2.8% Pay Award for Teachers. This is not finalised at this stage and any official award will be considered after the STRB has submitted its recommendations. SBS has a inflation figure of 3.0% for Teachers pay in 2025/26. As the situation develops, the LA will keep schools informed. 
  • For INFORMATION - The DfE has published it latest guidance and information about the RPA (Risk Protection Arrangement) for 2025/26. Information can be viewed here.
  • 10/12/2024 - For INFORMATION - Overnight on Monday 9th December, SBS have applied a number of fixes and updates to their budget planning software. full details can be found here.
  • 21/11/2024 - For INFORMATION - Funding Statements for November 2024 have now been issued. If you have any queries about any of the information contained within your funding statement, you should contact the relevant person that is listed on the Funding Statement
  • 21/11/2024 - For ACTION by MAINTAINED Schools - The Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) is due to be completed and returned to the Local Authority by 31/03/2025. Schools should begin to review and complete their 2025 SFVS with their Governing Body in good time to ensure that the deadline can be met. Additional information and guidance can be found here.
