A cartoon of a house, mountains, and trees on a planet

Audience

Early years practitioners, leaders, managers, teachers, and childminders.

Aims

This is a practical session for anyone who is creative and loves the natural world. We will be creating a collection of early years stories for children to understand the importance of the natural world and gain a love of the world they live in.

Spark your imagination, using a focus point, points of view, discussions, narratives, and provocations to create stories that could be retold to your children. This will also enable you to take the knowledge away to show children how to create their own.

Creating storyboards promotes links and connections. They also help develop knowledge, creativity, and a broader understanding of the subject you want to share.

This session will enable you to create stories on the world around us and take that with you to use in your settings to encourage little storytellers, writers and children who want to look after our best world.

Additional information

Participants can bring any creative tools, such as colouring pens and pencils, to help build their storyboards.
