Audience

This course is suitable for all practitioners in schools including class teachers, teaching assistants, assessment coordinators or year one teachers who are responsible for contributing towards the end of year EYFS Profile assessments.

This course is also suitable for practitioners in the PVI sector who have children in their setting who will be turning five on or before Saturday, 31 August 2024.

Aims

Provide advice and guidance on the completion of the EYFS Profile 2025 - Explore the updated EYFS Profile handbook and national exemplification materials.

Please note, this session is to offer advice on all aspects of the EYFS Profile 2025. Practitioners are invited to attend moderation sessions in the summer term when opportunities to discuss Early Learning Goal judgements will be facilitated.

Aims

Throughout the course participants will learn to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of why we should observe, and what is a meaningful observation
  • Consider and develop skills on how to reflect on what has been observed
  • Gain strategies and ideas to support a collaborative approach
  • Take an in-depth look at the assessment including the language of the assessment
  • Understand the barriers to learning and the impact they have on the way we assess.

To provide an opportunity for practitioners to moderate Early Learning Goal judgements using national exemplification materials and provide a forum to facilitate discussion through an ​agreement trialling process.​
