Audience

All practitioners working with early years children from birth to five years.

Aims

The course aims to strengthen practitioners' confidence and skill in using meaningful, responsive observation and assessment to support every child's progress.

Participants will explore how high-quality observation underpins the Early Years Foundation Stage, how assessment information can be collected and used effectively, and how this information can be used to make appropriate adjustments in practice to support each child to progress and thrive.

The course will also explore the importance of working with parents to maintain a detailed and thorough understanding of the child, what they already know, and what they can learn next.

Audience

All early years providers, particularly those who have leadership responsibilities, such as room leaders, deputies, and managers.

Aims

The course will explore how purposeful observation and reflective evaluation form the foundation of high-quality early years practice.

Participants will develop a deeper understanding of how well-constructed observations and evaluations can drive improvement across all areas of the provision. In particular, the course will consider areas such as staff development, pedagogy, curriculum design, safeguarding, and the environment.
