Social Workers

Social Workers have an important part to play in supporting the education of Children in Care. The Virtual School staff are aware of the wide range of responsibilities held by Social Workers and offer support to ensure all Children and Young People in Care can reach their potential and achieve high educational outcomes.

All Children in Care must have a current, high quality Personal Education Plan (PEP). Guidance states the responsibility for making this happen is shared by Social Workers and schools. In Cambridgeshire, PEPs are completed electronically using the welfare call system. The Virtual School offers training to social workers on ePEPs as required, please contact Edwina.Erskine@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
