The Wonderful Every Day

A brand-new, Innovative Development package for schools.

boulder

We know that well taught Physical Education has a huge impact on young people, but we are seeing that in many schools, the offer is narrow and often dominated by games, with just a tokenistic experience of Outdoor Education.

One of the principal findings in the National PE report of 2023 was…

“Many schools do not match the ambition of the national curriculum….

‘Furthermore, in three quarters of schools, outdoor adventurous activities (OAA) are either not taught effectively or not taught at all.

What benefits can Outdoor Education achieve?

  • Physical skills - Coordination.
  • Social skills – Communication, Trust and forming friendships.
  • Cognitive skills - decision making, resilience and self control.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Health and Fitness- Activity and knowledge.
  • Self esteem through success.
  • Encourage life-long participation.

In addition, when children participate in Outdoor Education they will be consolidating other areas of PE such as developing motor skills, confidence and competence in the outdoor environment as well as both mental and physical challenges.

A new, cutting edge Outdoor Education package, involving face to face training, market leading resources, and mentoring has been developed ready for launch in 2024/25.

The package will be will be delivered jointly by Ian Roberts, CCC PE adviser and Stephen Brown, CCC Outdoor Education Adviser, both of whom are expert advocates in this area of the curriculum.
