The Property Compliance Team provides advice, consultancy and management services in relation to asbestos management, enabling schools to comply with general duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.

Core services are offered on a retainer basis, which includes:

  • Maintenance of school and settings asbestos information and records
  • Provision of a School and settings Asbestos Management Plan and Policy
  • Attendance at Asbestos Emergencies (up to 3 hours per annum)
  • Management of refurbishment / demolition surveys, including attending site meetings (to a maximum of 3 hours per annum)
  • Project management of asbestos removal works, including attendance at site meetings (to a maximum of 3 hours per annum)

Additional services:

  • Provision of statutory training on asbestos and asbestos management
  • Provision of project management services for Asbestos Surveying (including procurement of suitable consultants and management and audit of surveys);
  • Ad hoc asbestos sampling of suspect materials as and when required to enable maintenance work to be undertaken
  • Maintenance and management of a database of asbestos-containing materials identified in the client’s premises
  • Management of any on-site asbestos emergencies. This will include any liaison that may be required with enforcement agencies, arrangement of any required licences and the procurement and management of specialist contractors to undertake emergency repairs and removals
  • Project management of scheduled works on asbestos-containing materials (for example in preparation for refurbishment, maintenance or construction works
  • Provision of a “Management of Contractors” control system to ensure contractors are aware of asbestos hazards
