We have been providing high quality learning outside the classroom at Grafham Water Centre for more than forty years. Schools, colleges and youth groups return to Grafham Water year after year because we offer a unique package of experienced instructors focused on educational outcomes, excellent value for money, and a personal touch.
At the heart of all our work is our vision to change young people’s lives. We are passionate about challenging young people and creating opportunities for real adventure and learning. To succeed in life we believe that young people need to learn how to be resourceful, resilient, adaptable and confident; to be good team players and accomplished problem solvers. Our activity programmes challenge young people to develop these skills and to discover what they are capable of, supporting them develop into fully rounded adults. Our work fully supports the outcomes identified in the National Curriculum, and we are committed to meeting the individual educational needs of each organisation and each child we work with.
Personal development at Grafham Water Centre not only occurs as a result of the activities but is also encouraged by centre staff who work with groups to set goals and review their learning on a regular basis. To deliver quality activities we place a high priority on staff continuity, low staff ratios and small group sizes. At Grafham Water Centre we are proud to be signatories to the Manifesto for Learning Outside the Classroom and hold the quality LOtC badge and the AHOEC GOLD badge.
