Burwell House

Burwell House has been offering outdoor education to children and young people for 60 years. Our 18th Century house and 3 acres of beautiful, inspiring gardens provide a welcoming, relaxed and homely atmosphere for all our visitors.

We provide tailor-made residential and day courses, planned individually with each school to enrich their curriculum, and provide a wealth of learning opportunities. The Centre accommodates between 20 and 60 children plus staff and we only have one school in residence at any time so your group can be assured of the peace of mind created by sole occupancy.

Holding a Learning Outside the Classroom Quality badge for a number of years our experienced education team have developed a very wide range of activities covering a great number of curriculum areas. We continually develop new, innovative and interesting sessions, and make improvements to sessions we already run, including our fully equipped TV studio.

Our catering team offer home-cooked, quality food and have a fabulous reputation. Bedrooms range from twin-bedded rooms to larger dormitories, all with close access to modern toilet and shower facilities.

Situated in the heart of the historical village of Burwell gives us great scope for using the local area during visits, we are within walking distance of the Anglo-Saxon Devil’s Dyke and the wonderful Wicken Fen National Nature Reserve.

We also offer weekend hire, both catered and self-catered, for either family or organised groups and can provide a unique conference facility.

We have excellent transport links to the whole of East Anglia and beyond via the A14 and the M11.
