Upcoming dates and activities

Friday 12 January – Deadline for Academies to have a written agreement in place for moderation and monitoring.

Friday 12 January - Deadline for Academies to notify STA via the PAG of the LA they have chosen for moderation & monitoring if it is not their geographical LA.

Monday 12 February - Pupil registration form available on the PAG for all schools (including special schools) to complete for the end of KS2 tests. Forms available on the PAG for schools to make applications for, early opening, compensatory marks for spelling, additional time and timetable variations.

Preparing for Assessment

To support school leaders through the 2023 / 2024 assessment cycle by

  • Sharing information and news about assessment including the latest guidance issued by the Standards and Testing Agency
  • Offering guidance to schools on best practice in standardisation and moderation of learner’s attainment

Session 1:

  • Autumn Assessment Briefing (STA Guidance)
  • A review of the Standards and Testing Agency assessment guidance for the 2023 / 2024 academic year
  • Sharing the latest information regarding good practice and meeting the requirements for assessment in 2023 / 2024
  • Review of outcomes from the 2023 KS1 and KS2 statutory tests, Year 1 phonics check and the Year 4 multiplication tables check
  • Support for assessment in Year 2

Session 2:

  • Spring Assessment Briefing (SATs and Moderation)
  • Guidance on administering KS2 national tests
  • Guidance on KS2 Teacher Assessment and Moderation
  • Guidance on preparing for a possible Local Authority Moderation Visit
  • Sharing the latest information with regard to good practice and meeting the requirements for assessment in 2023 / 2024
  • Support for assessment in Year 2

Cost Details:

No charge for up to two people from schools that have purchased Element 2 of the Primary Offer.

£35 per place per session for Cambridgeshire LA maintained schools.

£45 per place per session for out of county, Cambridgeshire academy and independent schools.
