Specialist Guidance
If a pupil continues to experience difficulties and does not make expected progress staff may wish to discuss the child or young person with a SEND District Team.
They can provide the following:
- A review of learning approaches in a strategy audit.
- Modelling strategies for teaching assistants such as pre-teaching strategies.
- Model class observation for teaching staff or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinators.
- Training e.g., inclusive or dyslexia friendly classrooms.
- SEND Surgery or consultation and in some cases direct work (e.g., observation or further assessment).
- Interpreting the outcomes of assessments that they have carried out to inform intervention.
