Specialist Guidance

Special Education Needs leaders in school should implement a graduated approach, where they liaise with staff, parents or carers and the students’ themselves to identify the right time to seek external agency involvement and referrals to specialists for further assessment and advice.

Send Services 0-25 years

Primary and Secondary SENCos can raise concerns relating to a child or young person's (CYP) speech language and communication needs (SLCN) with their Link Specialist Teacher or Educational Psychologist. All involvement will need parental consent using the ‘Required Information and Consent’ (RIC) or the ‘Early Help Assessment’ (EHA).

Further information and referral guidance can be found on the SEND Service 0-25 page.
