What is Early Talk Boost?
Early Talk Boost is a structured, evidence-informed intervention that helps early years educators support three- to four -year-old children with delayed language development. Through short, regular group sessions and practitioner training, the programme aims to accelerate children's communication skills and improve their readiness for learning.
How is Early Talk Boost being implemented across the county?
Cambridgeshire is providing funded training, programme resources, and ongoing support to early years settings and childminders. Priority is being given to settings serving communities where children are at greater risk of poorer communication and language outcomes, while additional funded places are available to settings across the county.
Training is delivered by licensed tutors, equipping educators with the knowledge and confidence to deliver the nine-week intervention and monitor children's progress effectively. Participating settings will be supported to evaluate the impact of the programme and share outcomes, helping to demonstrate the difference Early Talk Boost is making for children across Cambridgeshire.
I am a family facing practitioner in Cambridgeshire. How can I become trained in Early Talk Boost?
If your setting has been identified as a priority setting, you will receive an email invitation to register for training. There are also 25 fully funded places available, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for these can be completed via Booking and reservations for Early Years Workforce Development, Communication, language, and literacy. Once registrations have been received, eligible educators will be contacted to confirm whether they have secured one of the 25 funded training places.
