The Provider Reference Group is a volunteer group of providers representing different types of provision in Cambridgeshire. They meet four to six times a year, usually online, and work in partnership with the Cambridgeshire County Council Early Years, Childcare, and School Readiness Service to:
- Inform, comment on, and review changes to any funding formula for early years education.
- Advise and contribute to any consultation process to ensure engagement with all stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of guidance on other funding issues related to early years education.
- Advise and support the council on the sufficiency of early years and childcare places across the county.
- Support the increase in the take-up of early years funded places.
A provider usually chairs the group meetings. The current chair is Alison Bishop, Head of Nursery and Fun Pack at Babraham Nursery, and the Vice-chair is Deborah Parfitt, manager at Shelford Day Nursery.
