At Talking Together in Cambridgeshire (TTiC), we are committed to supporting every child to get the best start in life.
Our new Community Outreach Service aims to collaboratively support and develop the skills of parents with children from birth to five years, as well as those leading community groups for families with children in this age range.
The service is designed to support families and partner agencies in fostering the early communication, language, and literacy development of young children.
There are three tailored offers:
-
Informal call.
You can expect a friendly, collaborative call from our Early Communication and Language Adviser to explore how we can work together to support families. This includes signposting to relevant resources, training, and planning next steps. -
Family-facing*
A bespoke visit shaped by Offer 1, featuring interactive book-sharing sessions, parent discussions, and activity modelling to empower families in supporting their children’s communication, language and literacy development. -
Partner-facing*
Professional development opportunities for partners, with funded places on a core suite of training courses focused on supporting high-quality interactions with children:
-
- Hanen’s Teacher Talk Module 1: Encouraging language development in early childhood settings.
- Hanen’s Teacher Talk Module 2: Let language lead the way to literacy.
- Hanen’s Teacher Talk Module 3: Fostering peer interaction in early childhood settings.
- Introduction to Making it REAL and linked network meetings.
- Speech and Language UK’s Early Talk: Supporting communication and language.
- Talking Tennis: Building on our interactions with young children.
