Cambridgeshire Music

Cambridgeshire Music is the county’s hub for music education and arts therapies. We make high quality music happen all across Cambridgeshire for young people and families – both in and out of school. We organise thousands of music lessons, bands and projects in all styles of music, as well as arts therapies for all ages. We work in partnership with hundreds of professional musicians and organisations. Cambridgeshire Music is delivering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for educational settings, teachers and music educators.
Our CPD develops all areas of professional practice, designed by our senior team or leading practitioners from the music education sector.

Option 1: Annual Access to CPD and curriculum development support (£500 per setting)

  • 3 x 1 hour curriculum support meetings with a Cambridgeshire Music UPS teacher
    • Curriculum Development Support based on 3 hours work with a Curriculum Lead [normal price 3 hours x £50.90/hour = £152.70 subsidised by the hub]
    • One-hour bespoke CPD for staff planned to meet requirements of setting.
    • Access to all Cambridgeshire Music Schools CPD courses
    • Access to termly network meetings
    • CPD with Charanga

Option 2: In person and online training

All events will take place at the Cambridgeshire Music Centre in Histon (CB24 9LL) unless otherwise mentioned below and be available to access online (excluding Developing confident singing leaders)

Option 3: Termly network meetings (Free – see details below)

  • Free to access upon completion of your school or setting completing the Cambridgeshire Music Schools Self-Assessment survey. £30 for annual access without completed survey.
    • Opportunity to network with teachers and music practitioners across the county in a safe environment.
    • Opportunity to share examples of excellent pedagogical practice relating to music education
    • Opportunity to gain support and advice and share experiences.

Option 4: Charanga CPD and training (FREE)

Fully Subsidised CPD training in partnership with Charanga for all Cambridgeshire primary and SEND schools will be running during the academic year at our base in Histon.

Details: This workshop caters for those familiar with Musical School but looking to extend their use and knowledge of the award-winning programme. We will explore the range of interactive resources it provides, how to create and share lessons with your classes, its Assessment Framework, Creative Tools including our amazing composing tools, cross-curricular projects, Instrumental and ensemble courses, Song Centre, and more.

Improvising & Composing with Charanga. Complimentary CPD & Training
When: Tue 19th Mar, 16:00-17:30 GMT
Where: Cambridgeshire Music, Histon, CB24 9LL
Details: In this practical workshop, we'll look at the many improvising and composing activities in the units as well as the tools available in Freestyle and YuStudio. We will demystify composing and consider ideas to hone and extend your pupils' skills.
