Religious Education

Cambridgeshire Religious Education Advisory Service

Working in partnership with schools of all phases we encourage and develop high quality and inspirational Religious Education. We will help raise levels of knowledge and understanding about people of faith and none, to promote tolerance and respect of all people, to support pupil SMSC development and encourage pupils to explore questions of meaning of purpose.

For more information about the latest training and resources, please join the Cambridgeshire Religious Education Advisory Service group on Knowledge Hub. We have produced a guidance document explaining how to join the group.

SACRE is a statutory body, convened by the local authority, to produce a locally determined Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education at least every five years. It advises and monitors the quality and provision of statutory Religious Education and Collective worship in foundation, community and voluntary controlled church schools and reports on this annually to schools, the DfE and National Association of SACREs ( NASACRE).
