Sensory Service - (Hearing / Visual Impairment)

We provide targeted advice, support and training for schools and settings on the specific needs of children and young people who have a medically diagnosed hearing or visual impairment.

Our Hearing Support and Visual Impairment teams also support families from the time of diagnosis and through the key times of transition.

We work with children and young people of all ages including the early years and those who are at colleges of further education.

For Your Children & Young People:

Core targeted services related to sensory impaired pupils on roll are free of charge to early years settings, Local Authority maintained schools and Academies.


Elements of service commissioned by the SEN - Statutory Assessment and Resources Team are currently free.

All advice, support & training for pupils without or prior to receiving a Statement of Special Educational Needs will be chargeable to Academies at the same rates.
