Nick co-leads the School Improvement Team with Lesley Kelly and has responsibilities for working as the SIA to a group of schools. Nick also leads on KS1 assessment and moderation and the monitoring of KS2 tests. Nick has an interest in mathematics and is a member of the Strategic Board of the Cambridge Maths Hub. His prior experience includes working in schools in Lincolnshire and Peterborough, Mathematics Advisory work, Ofsted & SIP work and being a Regional Adviser for North London for the Primary National Strategies.
Lesley co-leads the School Improvement Team with Nick Beech and has responsibilities for working as the School Improvement Adviser for a group of schools. She has particular interest and expertise in developing literacy projects linked to reading, phonics, writing and assessment. Her prior experience includes working in a range of roles in schools in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. As well as School Improvement Partner and Adviser work, Lesley has also led Local Authority English Adviser Teams.
Claire has responsibility for working as the named SIA to a group of schools and is also the NQT Induction Manager for the Appropriate Body run by Peterborough City Council. This role involves ensuring schools are meeting their responsibilities of providing a suitable post for NQT induction and that the monitoring, support, assessment and guidance procedures in place are fair and appropriate. Claire thoroughly enjoys working with and supporting NQTs as they enter their teaching career. Claire has prior experience of working as the Head teacher of a Church of England Primary School and also a SIP. Claire also has extensive experience of school governance including the role of Vice Chair.
Sue leads on English within the School Improvement Team. She provides support to English/Literacy subject leaders as well as supporting in schools with teaching and learning. Sue leads KS2 writing moderation and managers the team of accredited moderators, as well as being the lead moderator for KS1. She has previously worked in schools leading English in Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire and is an accredited trainer for Edgehill University intervention programmes and Reading for Inference.
Sue shares the responsibility of developing a full range of CPD within Peterborough and can be the first point of contact for schools looking for staff development.
Sally is the School Improvement Adviser for EYFS in schools and oversees the EYFS Foundation Profile Moderation process. Her role involves delivering EYFS CPD to Nursery and Reception class teachers, staff in schools and any practitioners with Reception-aged children involved in the EYFS Profile, alongside support and challenge in schools. Her prior experiences include working in a small rural school in Northumberland and more than 15 years working as an EYFS Phase Leader and class teacher in Nursery and Reception classes in a variety of schools across Peterborough. A key role involves linking in with the Early Years' Team in Peterborough who support the PVI sector to support the transitions into Reception classes and developing the School Readiness START materials and events. Sally is passionate about outdoor learning and has delivered training nationally and locally on the development and use of outdoor learning environments in the EYFS. She is a Forest School Leader and Learning through Landscapes Accredited Trainer.
Sally is also the National Literacy Trust Literacy Hub Manager for Peterborough and works with a variety of different partners to develop children's enjoyment for reading, parent participation and improve children's reading outcomes with a particular focus on children and families in disadvantaged areas.
Sarah has been part of the Peterborough School Improvement Team since September 2020. She is on secondment from her full time post as Headteacher at King’s Hedges Educational Federation in Cambridge. Sarah has been at King’s Hedges (Nursery and Primary Schools) since 2004 and has worked through the many challenges the school has faced. Sarah works for Peterborough for two days a week. Other work has involved consultancy school improvement work for a Trust in London. King’s Hedges Educational Federation has also been involved in supporting other leaders in the school to be Interim Headteachers at a variety of other schools.
Lisa is a School Improvement Adviser in both Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. Previously, Lisa was a Headteacher in schools across Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire for 13 years. Over the past 10 years, Lisa has been involved in training and supporting Headteachers with their wellbeing and the well-being of others. She has also supports and develops new Headteachers
