Talking Together in Cambridgeshire - Funding bids
We have now completed our launch events at which we explained how we plan to fund innovative community based/led projects that will support families living in our project reach areas to understand their role in supporting their child’s communication, language and literacy development, and receive guidance and support on how to do this.
Projects will need to work towards one or more of the three main Community Literacy Projects development areas:
Improve family/parental awareness, knowledge and confidence of their role as primary educator in supporting their child’s language and literacy development, in order to improve the home learning environment (specifically children age 0-6).
2)Early Years Workforce
Increase and extend the awareness, knowledge and confidence of the Early Years workforce in identifying and supporting communication, language and literacy development of children.
To increase the awareness, knowledge and confidence of the local community, county-wide organisations and Partners (e.g. Health Visitors, GPs, Speech and Language Therapists, Housing Officers, Midwives, children’s centre staff, library staff, Job Centre Plus, voluntary sector organisations) in identifying and supporting children, parents/carers and wider community members, with language and literacy needs.
